Onyx Capital Group is building a new engineering hub in Sri Lanka and seeking Senior Rust Software Engineers to serve as founding members. You will take full ownership of complex, high-performance systems that power live trading infrastructure used by some of the world’s most demanding financial market participants.
What You'll Do
- Take full ownership of complex systems end-to-end — from architecture and design through delivery and into production
- Work alongside the global engineering organisation
- Build and maintain live trading infrastructure used by some of the world’s most demanding market participants
- Push back when the design isn’t right
- Hold the bar high without being asked
- Practise Test-Driven Development (TDD)

What We're Looking For
- Senior-level software engineering experience
- Proven experience with Rust programming language
- Ability to take ownership and drive technical decisions
- Experience with building high-performance, low-latency systems
- Strong software design and architecture skills
- Commitment to software craftsmanship
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Design for observability from day one
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial technology or trading systems
- Familiarity with energy derivatives or commodities markets
- Experience working in a fast-paced, technology-driven market-making environment
