The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. seeks a Senior Programmer/Analyst to support groundbreaking medical discoveries within the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics. In this role, you will create analytic data files, conduct statistical analyses, and manage data for research projects focused on medication use and outcomes, working extensively with large healthcare databases.
What You'll Do
- Support faculty and research staff with creating analytic data files and conducting statistical analyses.
- Load, validate, document, manage, and analyze data for internal and collaborative research projects.
- Assist with data storage and management for new and ongoing projects.
- Collaborate with research staff to specify appropriate analytical data files for research questions.
- Create and carefully document all derived analytical data files for use by other team members.
- Participate in monthly programmer team meetings.
- Mentor junior programmers and analysts.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Analysis or a Related Field required (can accept experience in lieu of degree).
- 5-7 years of experience in data analysis.
- Proficiency with SAS is required.
- Experience with health care claims data is required.
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate complex workflows and data to a variety of audiences.
Nice to Have
- Additional skills in R are a plus.
- Project management skills and/or experience are a plus.
- Knowledge and application of statistical analyses including variance analysis and statistical significance.
- Healthcare knowledge, particularly pertaining to electronic medical record data.

You will be part of a group of 9 experienced analysts within a division of 30 Harvard Medical School faculty and 80 support members. This is a tight-knit, helpful, and dedicated group in the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics.
Work Mode
This is a remote position. The primary office location is 1620 Tremont Street.
