n8n is hiring a Senior Product Engineer for the Nodes team to shape the foundation that powers every automation. Your primary goal will be to enable n8n's integration ecosystem to scale sustainably by building marketplace infrastructure and maintaining world-class core integrations.
What You'll Do
- Build end-to-end features, shipping user-facing features across the stack (backend, frontend, UI/UX) that are reliable, scalable, and delightful.
- Create developer tooling and creator dashboards for community node authors.
- Implement marketplace capabilities such as search, discovery, verification, and payments.
- Elevate engineering quality and reliability by driving down recurring bugs and increasing test coverage.
- Improve system resilience through better error handling, observability, and performance.
- Proactively identify and address quality hotspots across the nodes codebase.
- Shape nodes infrastructure and technical strategy, contributing to architecture decisions and patterns that scale.
- Introduce standards for APIs, data models, and service boundaries that keep velocity high.
- Partner with PMs and designers to balance speed, quality, and impact in a pragmatic way.
- Coach, collaborate, and level up the team by sharing best practices and mentoring teammates.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to deliver meaningful user value.
- Champion knowledge sharing within the team and the broader community.
What We're Looking For
- Full-stack expertise (TypeScript/Node/Vue) with strong proficiency building across backend and frontend to deliver end-to-end features.
- Familiar with n8n: you've built or tested workflows and understand how our nodes work.
- SaaS Product delivery experience as an in-house developer, shipping features that solve real user problems.
- Experience building scalable backend architecture, understanding APIs, data modeling, and patterns that keep systems reliable as they grow.
- Pragmatic prioritization: balancing speed, quality, and impact to move the needle where it matters most.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, working closely with PMs, designers, and stakeholders to align on outcomes and ship.
- Hands-on testing and quality practices: writing and maintaining unit, integration, and e2e tests (e.g., Jest, Playwright) and baking quality into your workflow.
- Clear communication: explaining technical decisions and trade-offs simply and transparently.
- Developing with user empathy: understanding developer needs and end-user workflows, and can build for both n8n users and for n8n community developers.

- Performance and observability experience: familiar with optimizing performance and using monitoring/alerting to keep systems healthy.
- Analytical mindset: using data to guide decisions and validate outcomes.
- Fast-moving product environments: comfortable iterating quickly in a user-centric SaaS setting.
