Agilent Technologies is hiring a Senior Privacy Counsel to ensure the highest standards of data protection and privacy across our global operations. You will develop our data protection and AI governance program, providing strategic legal counsel to stakeholders throughout the company.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of Agilent's data protection, privacy, and AI governance program.
- Partner with Information Security and IT teams to implement best practices and develop policies and standards.
- Provide expert legal counsel on data protection, privacy, and AI matters to senior management, product teams, and business units.
- Support product teams in applying privacy by design and integrating AI ethically, developing privacy collateral.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies and their legal implications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to assess and mitigate data protection risks associated with AI and data processing.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and oversee the implementation of safeguards.
- Monitor and interpret changes in global data protection, privacy, and AI regulations.
- Support legally privileged review of information security incidents and communications with authorities.
- Develop and deliver training programs on data protection, privacy, and responsible AI use.
- Support the Chief Compliance Officer in managing audits and regulatory inquiries.
- Foster a culture of privacy awareness and responsible AI use across the organization.
- Review and advise on data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity contractual terms.
- Support the drafting of contractual terms, templates, and negotiation playbooks.
- Support the tracking of key performance metrics.
What We're Looking For
- A law degree (LLB or equivalent) and qualification as a solicitor or barrister in the relevant jurisdiction, with an active practising certificate.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data protection, privacy law, and AI-related legal matters, preferably in a multinational corporation or law firm.
- In-depth knowledge of global regulations, including GDPR, PIPL, EU AI Act, EU Data Act, and EU Cyber Resilience Act.
- Understanding of regulations applicable to the Life Sciences industry.
- Proven experience developing data protection, privacy, and AI policies, conducting risk assessments, and managing security incidents.
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, their ethical implications, and related legal frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience using and managing workflows in privacy management systems such as OneTrust.
Nice to Have
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), or other relevant certifications.
