Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to build platforms and tools that empower core engineering teams to ship better code faster. You will operate at the intersection of systems engineering, infrastructure, and tooling, helping scale a distributed Web3 platform used globally.
What You'll Do
- Design and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring robust, fast, and scalable deployments.
- Develop tooling to enable the creation and management of ad-hoc Avalanche blockchain networks across local and distributed environments.
- Build observability frameworks capable of collecting, analyzing, and comparing system performance across multiple versions and configurations.
- Implement chaos engineering and fuzz testing to validate the stability and resilience of consensus algorithms and peer-to-peer protocols.
- Contribute to performance optimization efforts through strategic data collection and automated analysis.
- Collaborate across Platform Engineering to improve software quality and support large-scale development and testing initiatives.
- Drive internal developer productivity by building platforms that enable reliable testing, debugging, and deployment workflows.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of programming experience.
- At least 4 years working in large, collaborative codebases.
- 2+ years of experience with Go and/or Rust.
- Strong foundation in computer science, systems engineering, and software reliability.
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI).
- Experience writing end-to-end tests for complex distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and observability solutions at scale.
- Deep understanding of Unix-based system programming and/or large-scale orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes.
- Self-starter mindset with a balance of technical initiative and team collaboration.
