BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to take ownership of the performance, security, and durability of our platforms and their supporting infrastructure and services. This is a fully remote position that requires participation in a team on-call rotation.
What You'll Do
- Certify multiple hardware platforms and the interrelationship of different operating systems in complex environments.
- Provide technical leadership for the installation and certification of all supporting software and hardware for production implementations.
- Develop data architecture to support both production systems and backend data science and modeling tools.
- Recommend and design structures and tools for systems meeting business needs, considering target environment, performance, security requirements, and existing systems.
- Adjust schedule to perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent years of experience (defined as 4 years of professional experience).
- 5 years of experience in Information Technology.
- 1 year of experience in IT engineering within an enterprise environment.
- Expertise in Windows and Linux systems administration.
- Hands-on experience in Ansible and Terraform.
- Proficiency in YAML and PowerShell scripting.
- Expertise in Nutanix technology, including AHV, Cluster Deployment, and Leap.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
