About the Role

Maersk is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for large-scale operational units. You will manage all activities related to customer order processing and process development, ensuring efficient and effective departmental performance.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, schedule, and manage daily work activities within departments to meet or exceed established KPIs.
  • Provide oversight of shipping/receiving, picking/packing, inventory, and VAS activities.
  • Apply experience in rapid carton throughput, including import deconsolidation and domestic consolidation.
  • Manage store delivery focus: unloading, sorting, segregating, palletizing, and load out.
  • Leverage continuous improvement methods to enhance labor productivity and process accuracy while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform managerial functions such as mentoring, coaching, administering performance reviews, conducting disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates.
  • Train and ensure all assigned associates comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Implement, improve, and maintain operational functions of departments with a focus on quality, productivity, safety, and loss prevention.
  • Establish productivity and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain adherence through follow-up.
  • Manage operating budgets including cost analysis, P&L accountability, and labor productivity.
  • Work directly with all levels of associates to ensure procedures are followed consistently and best practices are adhered to.
  • Manage up to 10 direct employees with an additional 150+ indirect reports.
  • Be responsible for manpower planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Team & Environment

You will manage a team of up to 10 direct employees with 150+ indirect reports. Your operational scope includes the picking, put-away, shipping, and inventory control departments.
