What You'll Do
Oversee the daily operations of facilities across Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the broader EEMEA region, ensuring environments are safe, compliant, and aligned with business goals. Act as the main liaison between regional leadership and workplace operations, guiding strategic decisions related to space, infrastructure, and service delivery.
Lead a distributed team of facilities and engineering specialists, providing direction in maintenance, space planning, workplace services, and capital projects. Coordinate with stakeholders to assess operational needs and implement solutions that improve efficiency and employee experience.
Manage third-party vendors delivering critical services such as janitorial, security, catering, and building maintenance. Collaborate with global facilities teams to standardize practices and ensure consistent service levels across locations.
Direct space optimization initiatives, including reconfigurations, expansions, and consolidations. Support real estate projects from planning through execution, ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with long-term objectives.
Oversee operating and capital budgets, conducting forecasting, tracking variances, and delivering regional financial reports. Use data to inform decisions and improve cost efficiency.
Implement preventive maintenance and facility improvement programs to extend asset life and enhance building performance. Promote sustainability and operational excellence through continuous improvement.
Build and lead a diverse, inclusive team through hiring, coaching, and development. Ensure 24/7 site coverage and maintain relationships with landlords and local authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Facilities Management, Engineering, Real Estate, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in facilities or workplace operations
- Proven ability to lead remote, cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of building systems, project management, EHS standards, and construction practices
- Experience managing vendor contracts and service delivery models
- Track record of developing business cases, financial models, and budget forecasts
- Proficiency in financial analysis and decision-making
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leaders and gain alignment
- Experience driving change initiatives and managing organizational transitions
- High level of organizational and analytical ability
- Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- German language proficiency
- Professional certifications such as IFMA, BOMA, CoreNet, or LEED
- Background in medical technology, life sciences, or regulated industries
