Mapbox is hiring a Senior Manager, Technical Program Management. You will lead our EMEA TPM organization, transforming a high-pressure team into a disciplined unit that champions the customer. This role serves as the senior escalation point for critical issues and is accountable for building structure and removing blockers.
What You'll Do
- Rapidly establish and implement a structure for effective team execution, including processes, standards, and status reporting.
- Serve as the primary, senior escalation point for high-stakes customer issues with significant financial or strategic implications.
- Establish and execute a clear communication loop for customer feedback and critical issues, providing proactive updates.
- Lead and model high-level, technical negotiations with customer and executive stakeholders, driving to clear commitments.
- Define and champion a clear team charter and roles/responsibilities for the TPM organization.
- Define, build and institutionalize best practices for continual improvement of processes and results.
- Align with engineering and product leadership to break down strategic initiatives into road-maps and track progress.
- Foster a culture of ownership, measurable outcomes, and accountability.
- Build technical fluency in engineering context, architecture, API/SDK flows, data systems, and platform constraints.
- Recruit, develop and manage a best-in-class team of TPMs.
- Ensure customer feedback is communicated internally to enable product improvement.
- Accountable for tracking and creating metrics to measure success and drive adoption campaigns.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years experience in technical program management, professional services, or delivery.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- Strong leadership and commitment to building and coaching a diverse team.
- Demonstrated success in managing and resolving major, high-stakes technical crises.
- Proven experience in 'change management while under fire,' capable of implementing operational changes under high-pressure.
- Deep, technical product fluency and ability to describe complex products in technical depth.
- Proactively represents the customer internally and pushes for features.
- Ability to drive C-level conversations, relationships and presentations.
- Exemplary communication skills for all audiences, from technical developers to C-level executives.
- Demonstrated ability working collaboratively across a matrix organization.
- Based within 60 minutes of a major international airport hub.
