Becton Dickinson (BD) is hiring a Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner for its Diagnostic Solutions business based in Sparks, MD. In this strategic role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and partner to client leaders, providing HR leadership, coaching, consultation, and operational support. Your focus will be on driving business outcomes through organization effectiveness, talent, capability, and culture initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Act as a partner to client leaders to drive business growth, build talent, and advance the BD culture.
- Engage with business leaders to proactively identify people-related issues and initiatives, advise on employee implications, and coach senior leadership.
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition Team to drive the staffing process and build action plans to maintain an active talent pipeline.
- Apply total reward concepts to attract, motivate, and retain key employees, coordinating the annual merit and PIP process.
- Facilitate effective performance management practices and provide guidance to managers on performance issues and resolution.
- Act as an interface with legal and Access HR teams to ensure timely resolution of employee relations issues.
- Partner closely with HR colleagues and the DS Leadership team to ensure alignment on communication strategy and BU-wide initiatives.
- Drive initiatives for Employee Engagement, Inclusion and Diversity, and Employee Retention.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in HR Management, Business Administration, or a related HR field.
- Minimum of 6 years professional experience in an HR generalist or HR Partner capacity.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with HRIS systems is required.
- Organizational savvy to apply managerial courage and maintain relationships in complex situations.
- Proven track record of success and personal credibility.
- Strong business partnering experience with senior leaders.
- Strong influencing skills across multiple levels, functions, and cultures with a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated success in translating ambiguous business needs into strategies and concrete development actions.
Nice to Have
- MBA preferred.
- Professional of Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) Certification desired.
- Organization Design and Change Management experience.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $124,700.00 - $205,700.00 USD Annual.
