Celestica is hiring a Senior Manager, Hardware Design Engineering Thermal to lead a team developing thermal solutions for AI servers, switches, and accelerators. You will transition concepts from schematics through testing and manufacturing, leveraging deep expertise in heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for complex, multi-domain projects.
- Participate in project planning and scheduling, taking responsibility for non-technical project elements.
- Review and interpret customer requirements, potentially acting as the primary customer contact.
- Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions.
- Develop and lead the deployment of strategic, complex programs.
- Manage relationships with key vendors and partners.
- Research, plan, design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs.
- Create designs adhering to Celestica's procedures and relevant industry regulations.
- Solve complex problems and liaise with suppliers, customers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Set yearly departmental plans and goals, provide performance evaluations, and achieve key performance indicators.
- Perform analysis including tolerance, dimensions, and thermal and structural calculations.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in Thermal Design and Simulation.
- 4+ years of managerial or leadership experience.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong multi-disciplinary background.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A successful track record of bringing products to market.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong user of Flotherm as a CFD analysis tool.
- Expertise in heat sinks, heat pipe, and vapor chamber design and selection.
- In-depth experience with fan speed control methodologies and over-temperature protection mechanisms.
- Expert knowledge of thermal measurement technology and test tools.
- Broad knowledge of industry standards including SBB, NEBS, GR-63, and ASHRAE TC9.9.
Nice to Have
- Transient analysis experience.
- Liquid cooling or other advanced cooling technology experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Mechanical design tools such as Pro/E.
- Advanced knowledge of server, storage, or switch system architecture.
- A Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
