The Hershey Company is looking for a Senior Manager Category Procurement to lead the development and implementation of strategic procurement initiatives. This role leverages the Category Management Process to develop breakthrough strategies, optimize value, and ensure robust risk management.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute effective procurement strategies for assigned categories that align with company goals and market trends, managing the end-to-end sourcing process.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply, negotiate favorable terms, and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and total cost of ownership to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value optimization.
- Partner with internal teams such as R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal and Marketing to ensure strategies meet product, service, quality, capacity, cost and sustainability objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, and identify and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions.
- Develop commodity hedging strategies to enable budget visibility, reduce volatility, and provide a competitive advantage. Present strategies to C-suite and execute trades with brokers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in indirect and direct procurement or supply chain management within the consumer packaged goods industry.
- Proven track record in managing complex sourcing projects, supplier relationships, and cost management initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals, including negotiating complex contracts.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate market data, pricing trends, and total cost of ownership. Ability to use financial models to assess cost-saving opportunities.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing performance.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams across the organization with strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to packaging materials. Proficiency in identifying and mitigating risks.
Nice to Have
- MBA or advanced degree is preferred but not required.
