Lead the evolution of Cash + Coaching, a strategic initiative to strengthen the long-term impact of large cash transfers through accessible, digital coaching tools. This role is responsible for shaping the vision, product roadmap, and real-world implementation of coaching models that are grounded in behavioral science and designed for scale across diverse operational environments.
What You'll Do
Design and pilot coaching components that integrate seamlessly with existing cash transfer programs, working hand-in-hand with country teams in regions such as Rwanda, Mozambique, and Malawi. Translate insights from graduation programs, behavioral economics, and digital learning into practical, low-cost interventions that support recipients in building skills, planning for the future, and accessing markets.
Develop and manage digital tools such as AI-driven or rules-based chatbots, video content, tablet-based curricula, and WhatsApp-based planning systems. Ensure all products are accessible in low-literacy, low-connectivity contexts, and create analog adaptations where needed. Define a modular suite of coaching elements—covering areas like savings, digital literacy, and transfer planning—and determine how they layer onto cash programs for maximum impact.
Collaborate with external partners including edutainment firms, tech vendors, and research institutions to adapt proven content and delivery methods. Evaluate build-vs-license decisions, manage vendor relationships from concept to rollout, and contribute to rapid experimental testing to generate evidence quickly. Help shape donor strategy and represent the organization in global conversations on scalable poverty reduction models.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of experience in economic inclusion, graduation programs, or cash-plus initiatives
- Proven track record in designing or scaling digital coaching products such as chatbots, app-based learning, or digital financial literacy tools
- Strong grasp of the evidence base behind graduation approaches and coaching methodologies
- Experience turning behavioral science or training concepts into systems that work at scale
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams, vendors, and country programs simultaneously
- High proficiency in English; French language ability is a plus
- Familiarity with AI tools, WhatsApp delivery, IVR, or digital learning platforms is preferred
- Experience in fast-paced, iterative environments and co-developing solutions with governments or multilateral partners is advantageous
