Reddit is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Core Experience and Growth to build the very first experiences for new users on our platform. You will be responsible for key projects from ideation to production, focusing on using ML and LLMs to personalize the onboarding flow, first and early feeds, and notifications.
What You'll Do
- Use ML and/or LLMs to personalize first and early user experiences on Reddit.
- Build systems for real-time feature fetching and model inference.
- Build systems for recurring training of models using modern architectures like deep learning, transformers, or other sequential models.
- Work closely with ML Platform teams to provide feedback on and improve Reddit's ML infrastructure.
- Work with Product and Design partners to identify user problems and design solutions using ML and/or LLMs.
- Contribute meaningfully to our team's strategy.
- Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight, and help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs.
- Foster a healthy engineering culture and collaborate with other engineers.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience building deep learning models using mainstream ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- 5+ years of experience training, evaluating, testing, and deploying industry-level models.
- 5+ years of experience orchestrating data generation pipelines on large-scale datasets.
- A successful track record of applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
- Fluent in data analysis and SQL.
- First-hand familiarity with A/B testing using an experimentation platform.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully remote environment.
- A BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- An entrepreneurial spirit: self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
- Passion for building delightful products for users.
Nice to Have
- Experience writing production-quality software, preferably in Python or Go.
- Experience with content recommendations and personalization.
