Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take a leading role in designing, building, and maintaining a robust infrastructure and developer platform. You will work at the intersection of engineering and product to enable teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions at scale.
What You'll Do
- Build, optimize, and maintain a modern infrastructure platform that accelerates engineering productivity.
- Design scalable abstractions, reusable tools, and robust APIs to support product development teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineers across multiple teams to align infrastructure with business needs.
- Drive architecture improvements and advocate for best practices across infrastructure and deployment.
- Communicate effectively and persuasively to foster cooperation and collaboration across teams.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, focusing on efficiency, resilience, and developer experience.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in engineering platforms, infrastructure, and deployment tooling.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Node.js, Python, Scala, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Knowledge of build and deployment tooling (e.g., Bazel, Github Actions, Pants, Spinnaker).
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Exposure to microservices architectures, observability, and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Understanding of distributed systems, tracing, and event streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis).
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to learn quickly, and enthusiasm for building practical, resilient solutions.
