About the Role

GQS GmbH is looking for a Senior HR & People Operations Manager (f/m/x) to own all operational HR topics from recruiting to payroll while shaping strategic People initiatives. You will be a key partner to our managers and work directly with leadership to build a professional and supportive environment.

What You'll Do

  • Report directly to the CEO, placing strategic topics and updates on an equal footing.
  • Manage the entire recruitment cycle for your departments, ensuring an efficient process and great candidate experience.
  • Oversee the employee lifecycle, including contract management, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Advise managers as a trusted sparring partner on all HR-relevant and labor law issues.
  • Handle preparatory payroll accounting, including questions regarding pensions, health insurance, and social security.
  • Develop our People Operations processes with your own ideas and structures to increase professionalism.
  • Actively shape and drive the implementation of strategic initiatives in the People Operations area.
  • Participate in projects that continuously develop our People & Culture function.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 4 years of relevant HR experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid knowledge of German labor law, contract administration, and payroll.
  • Ability to work independently with high responsibility, quick comprehension, and performance standards.
  • A natural problem solver with the perseverance to master every challenge.
  • A passion for structure, efficiency, and clear processes.
  • A genuine passion for people and creating a unique corporate culture.
  • Strong communication skills combined with empathy.
  • Self-reliant work style, taking full ownership of tasks and an eagerness to develop further.
  • Fluent in German (C1) and English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a start-up environment.
  • Experience in guiding or mentoring colleagues within an HR team.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the CEO and provide technical guidance to a Junior HR Manager.
