Zencastr is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our fully distributed team as we push podcasting into the future. In this role, you will build high-performance, scalable consumer applications, working comfortably in both browser and Node.js contexts to serve a global user base.
What You'll Do
- Build scalable consumer-based applications.
- Work on high-performance, low-latency applications.
- Build APIs.
- Work with cloud APIs like Google Cloud and Digital Ocean.
- Advocate for the end user, thinking about how to best serve their needs.
- Uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of development with Typescript, React, and Node.js.
- Strong document / key-value store knowledge (Redis, MongoDB).
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Strong HTML / CSS / React knowledge.
- Demonstrable knowledge of building scalable consumer-based apps.
- Strong experience with unit, integration, and load testing.
- Experience building APIs.
- Experience with cloud APIs (Google Cloud, Digital Ocean).
- Significant experience with Node.js and good knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals.
- Good understanding of computer science fundamentals (e.g., heap vs stack, time complexities, patterns).
- Comfortable working in a browser context or a Node.js runtime.
- Team player with good communication skills.

- Experience working in high traffic, low latency applications.
- Good DevOps experience.
- Digital Signal Processing experience.
- Passion for high performance applications.
- Significant open source contributions.
- Empathy for the end user.
- Eye for code quality and striving to uphold best practices.
