About the Role

Greenburg Traurig is looking for a Senior FOIA Analyst to join its legal support team. In this critical role, you will manage complex Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) processes, ensuring meticulous compliance and efficient request handling for the firm.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the full lifecycle of complex and high-volume FOIA requests from initiation to final response.
  • Analyze documents and data to determine applicable exemptions and prepare detailed justification memos.
  • Coordinate and communicate with requesters, government agencies, and internal legal teams to facilitate the process.
  • Develop and maintain organized tracking systems for requests, deadlines, and correspondence.
  • Stay current with evolving FOIA regulations, case law, and agency-specific procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience managing FOIA requests in a law firm, government agency, or corporate legal department.
  • Expert knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act, its exemptions, and the administrative appeal process.
  • Proven ability to analyze large volumes of documents and data with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting correspondence and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Work Mode

This is a hybrid position requiring a combination of in-office and remote work. You must be located near and able to commute to one of our offices in Boston, MA or Philadelphia, PA.
