Lead environmental projects for state and federal agencies by directing full-scale site assessments and remediation efforts from planning through execution. This role demands strong technical judgment and leadership to deliver compliant, science-driven solutions on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee medium to large environmental remediation projects, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, technical quality, and client expectations
- Develop, review, and approve technical deliverables such as Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation designs, and cleanup strategy documents
- Evaluate Sampling and Analysis Plans and Quality Assurance Project Plans for scientific rigor and practical implementation
- Analyze environmental data—including soil, groundwater, and geological findings—to design and refine multi-media cleanup systems
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to early- and mid-career staff, supporting team development and project outcomes
- Support recruitment initiatives to strengthen technical capacity in site assessment and remediation
- Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams to align technical work with regulatory and operational goals
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in environmental site characterization and remediation
- Direct project management experience with programs such as Brownfields, CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action, or state-run Voluntary Remediation Programs
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, subcontractors, and deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Familiarity with evolving remediation technologies and engineering practices
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required
- Ability to work in field conditions, including lifting up to 25 pounds and navigating uneven or elevated terrain
Preferred Experience
- Experience evaluating or remediating sites impacted by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
