Atlan is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead critical initiatives, build and scale high-performing teams, and shape the future of our platform and engineering culture. This high-ownership role combines technical depth with strong execution and people leadership.
What You'll Do
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of complex projects across backend, infrastructure, and data systems by partnering with Product, Design, and stakeholders.
- Grow engineers through feedback, mentorship, and scope calibration.
- Lead architectural conversations, unblock engineering challenges, and guide teams through high-stakes technical decisions.
- Define and improve team rituals, engineering metrics, on-call processes, and incident practices.
What We're Looking For
- Experience building and nurturing engineering teams and helping individuals grow in their careers.
- Depth in at least one area: distributed systems, backend platforms, cloud infrastructure, or data engineering.
- Ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and a strong sense of ownership.
Nice to Have
- Curiosity about AI and emerging tools, thinking critically about how AI can change product experiences or developer workflows.
- Experience contributing to engineering strategy or building organization-wide frameworks and processes.
