AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the design and delivery of active travel and sustainable transport projects across Ireland as part of the Belfast Streets Team. This role involves technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality urban infrastructure schemes.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, review and delivery of active travel, streetscape and cycling schemes.
- Ensure all work meets relevant design standards (including NI Active Travel Design Guide, Cycling by Design, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB, TII Standards, SRW and MCHW).
- Apply best practice and innovation to improve accessibility, safety and sustainable transport outcomes.
- Provide technical assurance and support across schemes in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
- Work closely with clients, local authorities, delivery partners and contractors to progress schemes and resolve technical challenges.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs covering highways, drainage, structures, environmental, planning and urban design.
- Represent the Belfast Streets team at meetings, workshops and design reviews.
- Mentor and supervise graduate engineers, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Contribute to the continued growth of the Belfast Streets team by sharing knowledge, supporting bids and helping shape best practice.
