Anord Mardix is hiring a Senior Director of Research & Development to help shape the future of liquid cooling technology for JetCool, a Flex company. You will ensure products remain innovative by coordinating projects, managing intellectual property, and serving as a key technical expert.
What You'll Do
- Populate and maintain technology roadmaps in partnership with Advanced Projects, Product Engineering, and commercial teams.
- Collaborate with Advanced Projects and Product Engineering while providing technical leadership to resolve reliability and quality issues.
- Develop and protect intellectual property, both offensively and defensively.
- Coordinate engineering resources to gain protection for items and provide a clear vision via roadmap.
- Maintain strong technical partnerships with JetCool customers, understanding their current and future needs.
- Serve as a strong external advocate for liquid cooling and JetCool’s technology and approach.
- Attend trade shows and conferences on behalf of JetCool as a technical expert.
- Actively participate in design reviews and thermal toll gate reviews for projects.
- Maintain a strong external technical focus through presentations, demonstrations, and papers.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in hardware and technology development.
- Strong technical background in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics, with hands-on experience in designing and optimizing cooling systems.
- Experience in intellectual property management, including patent strategy development and patent prosecution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
- Ability to develop computational models for estimating performance metrics, quantitatively scope problems, and effectively storyboard and communicate results.
- Experience and fluency in engineering software packages (e.g., SolidWorks, MATLAB, Ansys, COMSOL, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and optimize fluid system performance.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated expertise in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer, with a strong foundation in engineering principles.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple resources and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Leadership qualities that inspire and motivate team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture.
Nice to Have
- Ph.D. preferred.
- Familiarity with data center servers, computer processors, and related electronic hardware.
- Previous involvement in the design and development of fluid systems for computing, data centers, power supplies, or automotive systems.
- Publications, patents, or contributions to industry-related conferences or forums.
