Middle Seat is looking for a Senior Digital Advertising Strategist to manage digital advertising campaigns and client relationships for our left-of-center political and advocacy partners. In this full-time role, you will focus on direct-response ads on Facebook, persuasion and awareness campaigns, and other digital advertising platforms like Google Ads.
What You'll Do
- Manage large clients as the lead strategist on direct donation, acquisition, and persuasion campaigns.
- Take charge of strategic planning and oversee campaigns from start to finish.
- Manage client relationships, embedding yourself in their work, and proactively guiding strategy.
- Develop media plans with measurable objectives and allocate campaign budgets.
- Create compelling hooks, write engaging ad content, and lead designers on creative aspects.
- Optimize landing pages for conversions and implement and test campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Analyze campaigns to inform future strategy, report metrics, and optimize toward client goals.
- Capitalize on rapid response opportunities and respond promptly to client inquiries.
- Collaborate with the email fundraising team and ensure best practices are followed.
- Lead the ads team, provide trainings, and manage time, projects, and delegation efficiently.
- Stay updated on persuasion, voter registration, and Get Out the Vote studies.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as requested.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in digital advertising.
- Experience working on campaigns with major platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Google.
- 2+ years experience with Facebook Business Manager, Google Search, and any DSPs.
- Experience in Excel or Google Sheets, report template design, and data visualization tools.
- Strong communication and copywriting skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate best practices, strategies, and goals to clients and staff.
- Attention to detail and organization while managing tight deadlines and multiple projects.
- Comfort managing multiple client relationships from start to finish.
- Comfort with different email CRMs to run acquisition campaigns.
- Digital ad experience for political candidates, advocacy organizations, or election-focused groups.
Nice to Have
- Agency experience.
- Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS for landing page templating.
- Experience pitching clients on an ads budget.
- Experience mentoring entry-level staff or interns.
- Demonstrated commitment to progressive politics.
