ClickHouse is looking for a Senior Developer Relations Advocate to be the voice of our developer communities and build strong engagement channels. You'll drive product awareness and communication, with significant ownership and impact in shaping this function from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with regional sales and marketing teams to advance community goals.
- Present at events including technical talks, meet-ups, webinars, demos, and trainings for technical and non-technical audiences, both online and in-person.
- Assist with coordinating relevant conferences, meet-ups, and events.
- Proactively engage with affiliate communities as a speaker and coordinator of joint events.
- Create high-quality content such as videos, blog posts, and podcasts targeted at engineers and technical end users.
- Write code and create and maintain sample projects for demonstration and teaching purposes.
- Work with the Marketing team to create and publish product-focused social media and newsletter content.
- Help develop and report measurements of the activities and impact of the function towards company goals.
- Support engineers in online communities such as Discord, Twitter, Slack, and GitHub Discussions.
What We're Looking For
- A technical background and deep familiarity with the data domain as a developer, infrastructure engineer, data engineer, data analyst, or similar.
- Experience sharing knowledge and teaching other engineers through blogs, recorded videos, meetups, conference talks, or training sessions.
- Excitement for organizing and hosting events, both formal and informal, for community growth.
- Readiness to put yourself out in the community as a frequent speaker on technical topics.
- Adept at communicating technically complicated topics simply and elegantly, with deep empathy for developers learning a new technology.
- Ability to take initiative and provide constructive feedback.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
Nice to Have
- Experience and understanding of databases, data stores, data warehouses, and distributed systems.
- Experience with open source technologies and communities, demonstrated by practical use and prior contributions.
- Formal experience in developer advocacy, developer evangelism, or developer marketing.
