General Motors is hiring a Senior Designer – HID Mobile Design to shape intuitive mobile experiences within our sophisticated vehicle and service ecosystem. You will own problems end-to-end, challenge assumptions, and deliver fully resolved, build-ready designs for products at scale.
What You'll Do
- Own problems, challenge assumptions, and shape solutions through deliberate design decisions at the system level or through high-impact incremental details.
- Deliver fully resolved, build-ready designs for sophisticated, constraint-heavy ecosystems involving vehicle platforms, services, and hardware dependencies.
- Translate technical, business, and system complexity into clear, intuitive mobile experiences.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of product design experience specifically on mobile, with examples of shipping real products at scale and full ownership for positive outcomes.
- Exceptional design craft and execution, demonstrated through consistently high-quality interaction and visual work, with deep fluency in Figma.
- Clear evidence of original, critical thinking in interaction and product design, shown through owned decisions that meaningfully shaped outcomes.
- A collaborative, low-ego mindset paired with strong conviction, open to feedback and iteration, while able to take a stand and own decisions when alignment is needed.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale, tradeoffs, and a point of view to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing for automotive, connected products, or large-scale ecosystems, or experience working at a world-class technology company.
- Experience with animation & prototyping software like Protopie, Rive, or Lovable.
