NBBJ is hiring a Senior Designer to join our highly collaborative design-oriented studio in London. This role requires a qualified architect with approximately 10 years of post-qualification experience and excellent conceptual, visual, and communication skills. You will work on significant opportunities across life science, workplace, healthcare, and higher education design.
What You'll Do
- Explore, lead, and communicate design concepts.
- Actively develop and guide building designs from concept through to detail.
- Prepare and participate in client pitches, presentations, and design competitions.
- Prepare and participate in stakeholder engagement, including town planning pre-application processes and end user consultations.
- Lead the work of other team members, providing mentoring and guidance.
- Engage collaboratively with wider project teams, including clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Provide thought leadership in high-performance, low carbon building concepts.
- Assist with new business development.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Architect with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification work experience.
- Strong conceptual and schematic design skills for high performance buildings with a focus on location-specific contextual solutions.
- Knowledge and experience of Low and Zero Carbon design strategies.
- A portfolio of delivered projects, including work in the UK.
- Strong verbal and graphic communication skills and ability to work within diverse teams of designers.
- Ability to participate in multiple projects and manage deadlines.
- Proficiency in Revit with 3D modelling skills; experience with Rhino and/or Sketchup.
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open environment.
- Ability to travel subject to project requirements.
