Wealthsimple is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Risk & Decision Science team. In this role, you'll focus on the Self Directed Investing platform, using data to drive decisions, manage risk, and enhance the trading experience for our clients.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement data science models to inform risk assessment and product features.
- Analyze trading patterns and market data to generate actionable insights for the Self Directed Investing product.
- Lead the end-to-end development of data products, from problem definition to deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Engineering, Product, and Risk to translate business challenges into data solutions.
- Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience in a data science role, with a proven track record of delivering production models.
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and experimental design.
- Expert-level proficiency with Python for data science (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets to solve business problems, preferably in finance, trading, or a related domain.
- Ability to work autonomously, own projects, and mentor more junior team members.
