Marqeta is looking for a Senior Data Product Manager, Banking & Money Movement to lead key initiatives at the intersection of external reporting, partner integrations, and product enablement. You will own and define the product requirements that power how BMM products are launched and supported through our Data Platform.
What You'll Do
- Refine and maintain partner-facing data processes, collaborating with engineering and data teams to improve structure, delivery, and consistency.
- Define and manage detailed field-level reporting requirements gathered from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support new integrations and product launches by representing data early in the onboarding of financial institutions.
- Validate and triage data concerns, serving as a first line of response for field-level questions or inconsistencies raised by partners.
- Ensure end-to-end data coverage by coordinating across teams to guarantee transaction types, operational fields, and compliance needs are correctly represented.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in product management, data analytics, or technical program management, with a strong understanding of data platforms and external reporting.
- Hands-on proficiency with SQL (intermediate to advanced), comfortable writing joins, filters, and validations across multiple tables.
- Working knowledge of Python (basic to intermediate).
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, including understanding DAG dependencies and execution flows.
- Experience using version control systems like Git.
- Strong understanding of data warehouse environments (e.g., Snowflake, dbt) and how structured data is transformed and queried at scale.
- Comfort using BI tools like Looker or Tableau to validate data outputs and triage issues.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly articulate data requirements and logic to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and a proactive approach to solving ambiguous problems.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments involving product, engineering, data science, compliance, and external partners.
Nice to Have
- Domain knowledge in payments, banking, or financial services, particularly related to transaction data, reconciliations, or regulatory reporting.
- Experience managing external partner-facing data requirements or delivering file-based integrations.
- Exposure to modern data stack tools such as Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake.
- Background in data or analytics engineering, or previous hands-on experience building or maintaining reporting pipelines.
