Jobgether is seeking a Senior Data Operations Engineer to lead and optimize data operations across multiple platforms. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical data systems, working within a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on solving complex data challenges.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain optimal database schemas for MariaDB and MongoDB, supporting analytics in Databricks.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot incidents, and optimize SQL queries, indexing, and ETL pipelines.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures across all data platforms.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, access controls, encryption, and security best practices.
- Manage Databricks clusters, Spark jobs, and Delta Lake transformations, integrating with external data sources.
- Collaborate with developers, data scientists, and DevOps teams, providing documentation and training on database operations.
- Participate in capacity planning, schema migrations, and performance tuning to support business growth.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience with MariaDB (mysqldump, mysqladmin, Percona Toolkit), MongoDB (mongodump, mongotop, mongoexport, Atlas UI), and Databricks (Jobs UI, CLI, REST API, SQL Analytics).
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or DataDog.
- Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and version control (Git, Jenkins, Terraform).
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL database design, performance tuning, and best practices.
- Experience supporting large-scale ETL pipelines and data integration workflows.

- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
