Role Overview
Join a forward-thinking legal team as Senior Counsel, providing strategic legal guidance for European operations based in Norway. Reporting to the General Counsel and US Lead Counsel, you will play a central role in shaping the company’s legal framework across jurisdictions, supporting a global footprint in technology and energy innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end management of complex commercial agreements, including infrastructure contracts and international licensing arrangements
- Advise on compliance with European regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, MiCA, and energy legislation
- Support corporate governance for European entities, overseeing board resolutions, statutory filings, and compliance with local laws
- Conduct in-depth legal research and translate findings into practical business guidance
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across regions to align legal strategy with corporate objectives
- Manage external counsel and regulatory interactions in Norway and neighboring jurisdictions
- Optimize contract lifecycle processes across EMEA and North America using CLM systems
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and brand alignment in all legal documentation
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited institution
- Admitted to practice law in good standing with a recognized bar association (US or European)
- Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, with a strong foundation in commercial law, ideally gained at a top-tier law firm or senior in-house role
- Proven experience in corporate governance, cross-border transactions, and regulatory compliance
- Fluency in both Norwegian and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with contract lifecycle and legal entity management systems
- Ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable insights for business leaders
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of operating independently in a remote, global environment
Preferred Background
Experience in technology, renewable energy, or digital asset sectors is highly valued. Familiarity with Bitcoin mining infrastructure or AI cloud platforms will be an asset.
