n8n is hiring a Senior Controller / FP&A Analyst to partner with the business and provide financial insights that unlock sustainable growth. You'll be the first dedicated Controller, joining a collaborative, 120+ person remote-first team that values autonomy and building lean, AI-first foundations.
What You'll Do
- Own and improve financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages (P&L, cash flow, KPIs) for leadership and external stakeholders.
- Deliver budget vs. actual analysis down to department level, providing variance insights and commentary.
- Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts processes across the company.
- Partner with GTM teams to analyze funnel performance, CAC, and campaign ROI.
- Conduct ad hoc business analysis and modeling for compensation, hiring, or capacity planning.
- Proactively deliver financial insights that help teams improve performance and hit goals.
- Contribute to consolidation, VAT declarations, transfer pricing, and audit preparation.
- Help design and implement scalable finance processes and tooling for growth.
- Support ERP/reporting system enhancements to improve data quality and automation.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, controlling, or strategic finance, including 2–3+ years in fast-paced tech or SaaS environments.
- Fluent in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Confident in tracking budgets, building forecasts, and analyzing financial performance.
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g. Datev, NetSuite, Odoo) and planning/reporting tools (e.g. Abacum, Causal, Pigment).
- Understand key GTM metrics like CAC, payback, funnel efficiency, and retention.
- Comfortable working with People, Sales, Marketing, and Leadership teams.
- Detail-oriented with clear communication.
- Effective communication across written and verbal channels, at all levels.
- Curious with strong business sense.
Nice to Have
- Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related field.
- 2–3 years’ experience in audit, advisory, or investment banking.
- Familiar with product-led growth metrics and strategy.
- Experience using Python to enhance workflows.
- Tech-savvy, experimenting with tools and seeking automation opportunities.
- Experience with VAT, transfer pricing, or IFRS.
- Experience working in async-first, distributed teams.
