MyFlorida’s Department of Management Services is looking for a Senior Community Health Nursing Supervisor. In this key public health role, you will coordinate all clinical services and nursing activities within a clinic setting, ensuring high-quality care across programs including Adult Health, Family Planning, Immunizations, and STDs. You’ll be instrumental in protecting and improving community health while reporting to the Community Health Nursing Director.
What You'll Do
- Oversee clinic operations, staff, and mandatory program reporting.
- Obtain and evaluate client medical histories and assessments.
- Counsel and educate clients on health matters.
- Provide treatment and education for sexually transmitted diseases based on lab results.
- Conduct pregnancy testing, counseling, and make referrals.
- Assist with medical examinations and administer medications per practitioner orders.
- Administer immunizations and perform necessary lab work.
- Maintain exam rooms, laboratory, and clinic areas for scheduled and walk-in activities.
- Ensure specimen samples are correctly logged and sent to labs.
- Answer telephone inquiries from clients.
- Perform monthly pharmaceutical inventory and ensure medication and supplies are ordered.
- Conduct medical record audits in line with program reporting requirements.
- Complete client referrals for additional testing or further medical care.
- Collaborate with all Community Health Department programs to ensure positive client outcomes.
- Contact physicians or APRNs for clarification or orders regarding client symptoms and protocols.
- Stay current on all rules and regulations, maintaining up-to-date procedures and ensuring staff compliance.
- Assist in developing and monitoring the clinic budget.
- Manage pharmaceutical bulk inventory, monthly reconciliation, weekly counts, and quarterly reconciliations.
- Participate in family planning and EHR conference calls and assist with organizing Immunization PODS.
- Complete and submit the family planning annual report.
- Manage staff performance, including training, appraisals, work direction, leave approval, and having authority for hiring and disciplinary actions.
What We're Looking For
- A current, active Florida Nursing license or a multistate license from another Compact State per Florida Statute 464.
- Demonstrated supervisor experience.
- A Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Current CPR certification.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Community Health Nursing Director, providing leadership within the clinic's nursing team.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $71,000 - $73,000 Annually.
