Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is hiring a Senior Communication Manager to lead the establishment and operation of the communication strategy for the Research & Testing Lab 'Secure Software Defined Defence' (S2D2). In this role, you will be responsible for the public positioning and communication for this defense and security initiative.
What You'll Do
- Lead the public positioning of the Research & Testing Lab and the Fraunhofer project office in close coordination with project management.
- Translate high-quality information and knowledge offerings into clear, high-reach communication for relevant target groups in central and eastern Germany and nationwide.
- Plan cross-media communication measures in close cooperation with research and innovation departments, and design and implement classic information, press, media work, and science communication.
- Develop effective communication and social media strategies to increase the lab's visibility for defense and security, and evaluate the reach success of campaigns using common analysis tools.
- Work with agility, flexibility, and a hands-on mentality in teams and with external service providers.
- Establish innovative communication approaches and support project management strategically in managing high-reach cooperations.
What We're Looking For
- A successfully completed university degree (Diploma or Master) in communication sciences, media sciences, public relations, journalism, marketing, corporate communication, or a comparable field.
- Professional experience in communication as well as press and public relations work.
- Excellent German and very good English language skills, both spoken and written.
- Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and organizational talent paired with a hands-on mentality and a team- and service-oriented way of working.
- Pragmatic and creative thinking, analytical and precise problem-solving skills, resilience, foresight, and value-based action.
- Willingness to undertake regular business trips.

This is a hybrid position based in either Leipzig or Oberlausitz.
