Illumina, Inc. is looking for a Senior Clinical Informatics Sales Specialist to join our Northeast team. In this role, you will apply your genomics, healthcare, and informatics knowledge to identify and close informatics opportunities, acting as an expert resource for customers and colleagues. You will be instrumental in selling Next Generation Sequencing and genomic data analysis pipelines primarily for clinical research or testing, helping to expand access to genomic technology.
What You'll Do
- Drive clinical customer adoption and sales growth of informatics products by providing technical guidance and subject matter expertise during the sales cycle.
- Consult with customers on informatics requirements, such as hardware and software needed for data analysis.
- Provide proof-of-concept/proof-of-principle analysis to demonstrate product fit-for-purpose.
- Partner with third-party providers to provide end-to-end solutions that drive Illumina's overall value.
- Work closely with other sales team members, including account managers, to make customers successful in clinical genomic data analysis and interpretation.
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct both basic and advanced informatics presentations and seminars for customers.
- Provide Voice of Customer input and feedback to development and marketing teams.
- Become the sub-regional subject matter expert for Clinical Informatics, training the broader sales organization.
- Assist customers to remove informatics barriers that may unlock sample volume and drive sequencing consumables uptake.
- Develop and manage an active sales pipeline.
- Contribute to the annual account manager strategic account management planning process.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a direct sales or similar customer-facing role.
- Must be willing to travel approximately 50%.
- Experience with Sequencing data analysis and interpretation (Variant Calling, filtering, annotation, interpretation, and reporting).
- Knowledge of clinical applications of sequencing, and related data formats, file types, data footprints, and typical analysis methods.
- Recognized deep technical expertise in clinical informatics, bioinformatics, or an associated area.
- Experience with common software toolkits, applications, pipelines, and algorithms for Next Generation Sequencing analysis, including emerging enterprise platforms.
- Knowledge of relevant cloud services and providers, including basic pricing models.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills.
- Outstanding problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to successfully work collaboratively in a highly matrixed sales organization.
Nice to Have
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a sciences degree in Bioinformatics, Clinical data analysis, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Biochemistry.
- Masters or PhD preferred.
Team & Environment
You will work closely with other sales team members, including account managers and other sales specialists, particularly the Healthcare Account Management team.

- Compensation: $105,600 - $158,400. Eligible roles may receive equity.

Work Mode
This is a local-country role. You must be based in a major US city that is near a main airport, near one of the selling territories that comprise the AMR Northeast sub-region.
