Lighthouse Games is looking for a Senior Build Engineer to be instrumental in streamlining our build and release processes, enabling our development teams to work efficiently and deliver high-quality games on time. You will architect and maintain robust build systems that support the complex needs of our game development projects, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
What You'll Do
- Work alongside the Lead Build Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our build and release pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable processes from development to deployment.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand build requirements, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to optimize build times and resource utilization.
- Automate build, testing, and deployment workflows using industry-standard tools and technologies.
- Establish and enforce best practices for version control, branching strategies, and release management.
- Manage build infrastructure, including build servers and artifact repositories, and implement monitoring and alerting.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience as a Build Engineer or similar role in the gaming industry, with a proven track record of designing scalable build systems for large-scale game projects.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Strong knowledge of build tools and version control systems, including Git, Perforce, and SVN.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines, CI/CD tools, and configuration management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the game development process.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with containerization technologies and cloud platforms is a plus.
