As a Senior BI Developer, you will be responsible for translating complex data into actionable insights and owning BI solutions from development through deployment. You will be a key player in a company committed to creating category-leading enterprise software.
What You'll Do
- Join workshops or 1-to-1 interviews to hear business problems first-hand, ask clarifying questions, and capture detailed acceptance criteria.
- Maintain documentation of business requirements, metric calculations, and data sources, obtaining business sign-off.
- Use Power BI to create star/snowflake schemas, relationships, calculated columns, and measures (SQL, DAX).
- Build interactive Power BI reports with slicers, drill-throughs, and bookmarks.
- Tune SQL/DAX, set aggregation tables or incremental refresh policies, and monitor logs to keep visuals under 5 seconds and loads within SLA.
- Apply row-level security roles and basic lineage documentation.
- Investigate data discrepancies, reproduce issues, explain root causes, and propose fixes.
- Coordinate with the DataWarehouse team on source availability and root-source data fixes and enhancements.
- Adhere to development best practices, processes, and frameworks.
- Experiment with new BI features and share findings in team demos.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with Power BI in a business environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous Power BI projects and dashboards.
- Expertise in data visualization, dashboard creation, and UI/UX principles.
- Advanced skills in Power Query, DAX for complex business logic, and Power BI service/app creation.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, normalization/denormalization).
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, with ability to write complex queries and optimize performance.
- Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) and ETL processes.
- 3+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence role within Finance or GTM Operations.
- Proven ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels to understand business needs and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems.
- Demonstrates full ownership of projects from requirements gathering through delivery.
- Extremely detail-oriented with a passion for delivering high-quality, accurate, and thoroughly documented reports.
- Experience with project management and delivery tools (preferably Jira).
- Strong service-oriented mindset and adherence to rigorous development processes.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) certification.
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience working with other BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Looker Studio.
- Development experience using data science tools like R and Python.
