Cargill is seeking a Senior Analyst, External Legal Partnerships to play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into strategic insights. In this highly visible position, you will focus on law firm spend, rate structures, benchmarks, and performance management, partnering closely with Law leadership, Legal Operations, Finance, and external firms.
What You'll Do
- Capture, process, prepare, and analyze complex datasets to extract significant insights.
- Develop and maintain reports to streamline data analysis.
- Conduct advanced spend analytics related to law firm rate structures, regional benchmarks, practice areas, matter types, and engagement trends.
- Perform strategic analysis to support law firm selection and evaluations.
- Cultivate and maintain positive partner relationships to understand reporting and analysis needs.
- Build detailed reports and dashboards using tools like PowerBI to communicate spend, rate trends, matter complexity, firm performance, and staffing patterns.
- Design and implement data visualizations to communicate complex data clearly.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Identify opportunities to improve data collection and reporting processes and implement standard methodologies for data management.
- Analyze opportunities to leverage AI in analytics, pricing, legal service delivery, and reporting.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, value opportunities, and deliver solutions to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Coach and advise to mature data consumption and analytics capabilities.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across all reports and analyses.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, typically reflecting 5 years or more.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with law firms and/or legal support vendors.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to identify, present, and convey findings to leadership and stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience in pricing analytics, legal operations, or law firm management.
- Understanding of law firm billing practices, RFPs, pricing structures, AFAs, and engagement mechanics.
- Ability to influence without authority through data-driven insights.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $110,000 to $140,000
- Discretionary incentive award
- Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year
