Cloud Chamber Montreal is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join the development team for BioShock 4. You will be responsible for pushing the development of ambitious AI systems and archetypes that deeply integrate with storytelling. This role focuses on crystallizing that ambition, owning systems architecture, and bringing new AI concepts to life through close collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the team to iterate and polish existing AI Systems and Archetypes.
- Bring new AI Archetypes into existence and finalize existing ones.
- Take confident ownership over the architecture and implementation within your domain.
- Implement and maintain AI behavior trees and associated systems.
- Ensure all AI Systems and Archetypes operate performantly and within memory budgets.
- Improve design-facing tools for authoring and scripting combat encounters.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Review the work of other engineers and share your expertise.
- Work closely with Design, Animation, Audio, VFX, and Art to finalize core AI systems like Combat Management and Perception.
- Share ownership of systems and collaborate with engineering leadership to shepherd them to ship.
- Push the conception of what is possible, advancing our technical ambition.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of industry or related experience.
- Experience in an AI for video games programming role.
- Professional experience using Unreal Engine for scripting Basic AI Systems.
- Experience with UE5 AI Debugging Tools and the Rewind Debugger.
- Strong math skills.
- Strong C++ experience.
- Development experience for current-gen AAA consoles.
- For candidates located in Quebec: Proficiency in French is required.
- For candidates located in Quebec: Proficiency in English is required to collaborate with US-based teams.
