Role Overview
As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you'll play a key role in shaping health care solutions through rigorous actuarial analysis and predictive modeling. You'll focus on Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans, delivering data-driven insights that inform financial forecasting, risk assessment, and strategic planning. This position is part of an accelerated development program designed to support your ongoing professional and actuarial credential advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage actuarial models to forecast performance and assess financial risks tied to health care programs
- Analyze trends in health care utilization and costs to project revenue and expense outcomes
- Apply statistical methods to evaluate actuarial and financial datasets, generating actionable findings
- Translate complex analyses into clear, strategic insights for business leaders and cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate interpretation and application of modeling results
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related analytical field. You must be actively pursuing actuarial certification and have passed at least two professional exams. A minimum of two years of actuarial experience, with a focus on technical modeling and data analysis, is required.
Proficiency in Excel and SQL is essential. Experience with SAS is beneficial. Prior work in health care finance or related analytical domains is preferred.
Work Environment
This role offers hybrid flexibility, with remote work available anywhere in the U.S. Employees based in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C., are expected to report to the office at least four days per week. All remote arrangements follow company telecommuting guidelines.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $72,800 to $130,000, commensurate with experience.
