Optum Tech, part of UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a Senior Actuarial Analyst for our elite actuarial team. In this Actuarial Leadership Development Program (ALDP) role, you will tackle demanding and complex challenges in health care, developing leadership and project management skills while focusing on service, products, and savings.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain actuarial models for forecasting and tracking performance risks associated with Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans
- Understand and interpret the key drivers of health care trends to project expected revenue and cost
- Perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling to provide management with statistical findings
- Perform quantitative analysis of actuarial, financial, utilization, and costs data
- Communicate the results of your work in a meaningful way to internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field
- On the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams
- 2+ years of Actuarial experience, with a focus on technical skill development
- Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Excel and SQL (Structured Query Language)
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the finance-related field of the health care industry
- Basic or higher level of proficiency with SAS (Statistical Analysis System)
