Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors seeks a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy and insight across our growing organization, managing core accounting operations and contributing to global compliance.
What You'll Do
- Lead monthly accounting close activities, including general ledger analysis, journal entries, complex account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and international tax regulations by coordinating with external tax partners for income and sales tax filings.
- Assist with cash management duties, including maintaining and updating cash forecasts.
- Support audit processes for U.S. and international entities as a point of contact for external auditors.
- Prepare accurate, timely financial reports and maintain internal documentation for accounting procedures.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in the financial close cycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects and ensure consistency with global accounting standards.
- Maintain awareness of functional currency impacts on financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Take initiative on special assignments and adapt to evolving team needs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in external audit, accounting, or financial reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a solid grasp of accounting concepts.
- Familiarity with tax compliance deadlines and working under time constraints.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across levels and departments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Nice to Have
- CPA preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
