MezTal is hiring a Senior Accountant - Real Estate & Property (Guadalajara, MX)

MezTal is looking for a Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties from our office in Guadalajara. You will ensure accuracy, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and timely reporting in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. What You'll Do

• Manage all aspects of property accounting, including general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Record and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and prepayments.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for assigned properties.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and lease agreements.
• Partner with property management teams to provide financial insights and resolve accounting-related issues.
• Assist with external audits and tax filings by providing schedules and support documentation.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in property accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
• Must be legally authorized to work and currently residing in Mexico.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software.
• Experience in Senior Housing, Real Estate, Hospitality, or Healthcare.
