Chazin & Company is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple clients' day-to-day accounting and finance needs remotely, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficient operations through teamwork.
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive accounting services including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, and general ledger management.
- Prepare month-end close workbooks, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly financial statements for multiple clients.
- Track and report on restricted funds to prepare a net asset roll forward.
- Assist with grant management and reporting.
- Manage audits, including single audits, by preparing schedules, providing support during the audit, and coordinating final schedules.
- Assist with Form 990 preparation and other local, state, and federal filings.
- Produce specialized reporting to support client decision-making.
- Organize and maintain client files, including prior year audit and tax records.
- Work under the guidance of the controller to assist with analysis, cash flow, and budget preparation.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- A minimum of five years of general accounting experience.
- Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Extensive experience with data management, record keeping, and web-based applications.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and QuickBooks Online.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience in audit preparation.
- Ability to function well in a team-oriented virtual environment.
- The desire and ability to become proficient with SAGE Intacct and other third-party applications.
- The ability to work from home professionally and independently.
Nice to Have
- CPA or CFA licensure.
- Public accounting experience.
- Nonprofit accounting experience.
