Wemolo is looking for a Senior Accountant (all genders) to manage the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, year-end closing, and financial reporting for the German-speaking region. In this role, you will also focus on process optimization and act as a technical lead within the accounting team, contributing to a culture of innovation and personal development.
What You'll Do
- Independently book operational fixed assets, intercompany transactions, provisions, and balance sheet items.
- Complete reconciliation and independently monitor the balance sheet in the German-speaking region to ensure correct and transparent accounting.
- Independently manage the entire fixed assets and balance sheet during year-end closing preparation and accompany the audit.
- Create precise business evaluations and reports to support informed business decisions.
- Identify and manage optimization potential in accounting processes to sustainably increase efficiency, accuracy, and automation of daily workflows.
- Assume technical responsibility within the accounting team in the absence of the team lead, acting as a competent contact person and ensuring all work processes continue reliably.
What We're Looking For
- More than 5 years of experience in accounting according to HGB (German Commercial Code).
- Completed business administration degree or commercial training.
- Relevant professional experience in finance or accounting.
- Proficient in using accounting software, ideally DATEV.
- Very good Excel skills.
- Ability to structure complex matters clearly, work in an organized manner, and set clear priorities.
- Fluent communication in English and German.
