IO Global was looking for a Senior Accountant

Lead the financial backbone of a growing single-family office as the Senior Accountant, reporting directly to the SVP of Accounting & Finance. This role is central to maintaining accurate, timely financial records while actively reshaping how accounting is done through automation and intelligent systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage daily bookkeeping and ensure all transactions across multiple entities are recorded accurately and in real time.
  • Lead the monthly close process from start to finish—preparing journal entries, managing accruals, and maintaining prepaid schedules with precision.
  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheets using NetSuite and Ramp, ensuring full documentation and audit readiness.
  • Oversee accounts payable, including invoice review, payment processing, and vendor account reconciliation.
  • Process intercompany transactions and support clean consolidation for reporting purposes.
  • Deliver reliable, reconciled data to support monthly financial reporting and KPI dashboards.
  • Reduce close cycle time by identifying inefficiencies and implementing automated solutions.
  • Develop live or near-real-time financial reporting tools to minimize manual data extraction.
  • Apply AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT to automate data entry, flag anomalies, classify expenses, and improve reconciliation speed.
  • Design AI-driven workflows within NetSuite and Ramp to reduce repetitive work and increase accuracy.
  • Use automation platforms such as Zapier or Make, along with no-code or light scripting tools, to connect systems and streamline operations.
  • Continuously identify and eliminate manual, error-prone processes—treating inefficiency as a solvable challenge.
  • Support annual audits and tax preparation, growing into greater responsibility over time.
  • Help shape internal accounting policies suited to a private family office environment.
  • Generate custom reports and evolve reporting infrastructure as needs expand.
  • Assist on special finance projects and cross-functional initiatives as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, with public accounting (audit or assurance) highly preferred.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA candidate or holder is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Assistant Controller in a lean environment with minimal support.
  • Deep expertise in NetSuite and hands-on experience with Ramp or similar spend management platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Real-world experience applying AI tools to finance workflows—building or deploying systems that reduce manual effort.
  • Strong numerical reasoning and ability to detect subtle discrepancies in complex financial data.
  • Self-directed work style with the ability to perform under pressure and deliver consistently.
  • Unwavering discretion when handling confidential financial and personal information.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in a family office, private wealth, multi-entity structure, or entrepreneurial setting.

Technology Stack

  • NetSuite, Ramp, Excel, Google Sheets
  • Zapier, Make (or similar automation tools)
  • AI platforms: Claude, ChatGPT, and related tools
  • No-code development environments and light scripting
