About the Role
The Security Operations Manager will oversee detection, response, and operational resilience, driving improvements in security tools, processes, and cross-functional coordination to protect systems and data.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the security monitoring and incident response functions
- Manage security alerts and coordinate timely investigation and resolution
- Develop and refine incident response playbooks and escalation procedures
- Oversee threat detection systems and ensure optimal configuration
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams during security events
- Drive continuous improvement of security operations workflows
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Supervise security analysts and coordinate shift coverage
- Conduct post-incident reviews and document lessons learned
- Implement metrics to measure detection and response effectiveness
- Coordinate vulnerability management activities across infrastructure
- Support forensic investigations when required
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats and attack techniques
- Lead on-call rotations and emergency response coordination
- Ensure secure handling and retention of security logs and data
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in cybersecurity or related discipline
- Prior leadership role in a 24/7 security operations center
- Experience with zero trust architecture implementation
- Background in red teaming or penetration testing
- Knowledge of machine learning applications in threat detection
