Mass General Brigham is looking for a Security Officer - Per-Diem to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff by patrolling our healthcare premises. You will be a visible security presence, monitor systems, and respond to incidents.
What You'll Do
- Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior areas to detect and deter security breaches, vandalism, theft, or suspicious activities.
- Maintain a visible presence and be proactive in addressing security concerns.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems to identify potential security threats.
- Report security incidents, hazards, or policy violations promptly to appropriate personnel.
- Control facility access by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter designated areas.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Nice to Have
- Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO)
- Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS)
- Personal Drivers License (New Hampshire)
- MGH Security RMV Check/Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report
- 2-3 years of experience in security operations, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting
- Strong observation and situational awareness skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations
- Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid techniques
- Familiarity with security systems, such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
- Physical fitness and the ability to walk or stand for extended periods
