CHS Inc., a company creating connections to empower agriculture, is hiring a Seasonal Operations Specialist to support daily operations during the spring season at a grain and agribusiness facility. This role offers competitive pay, flexible scheduling with shifts ranging from 8am to 6pm, and overtime hours are available, including weekends. This seasonal position has the potential for conversion to full-time.
What You'll Do
- Carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled and comply with company policy and government regulations.
- Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading, including sampling, opening hatches, and attaching or detaching hoses.
- Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and trucks using machinery.
- Control and monitor all load out functions.
- Understand and operate automated scale and dump systems.
- Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication and inspection for leaks.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of inventory, whether blended, bulk, or packaged product.
- Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, and feed to customer sites.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly; perform housekeeping duties like sweeping, shoveling, and cleaning spills.
- Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal.
- Perform warehouse work including operating loaders, forklifts, and general maintenance.
- Promptly report customer complaints, repair needs, or safety concerns to your supervisor.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies and regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth facility operations and excellent customer service.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of Operations and/or Business Operations.
- Must meet minimum age requirement.
Nice to Have
- Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Agriculture experience.
