Unknown Company is hiring a Sales Engineer

About the Role

Carrier is looking for a Sales Engineer to pursue significant opportunities to modernize customers' HVAC solutions. In this consultative sales role, you will be responsible for understanding customer needs, designing technical solutions, managing a sales pipeline, and achieving orders and margin targets.

What You'll Do

  • Proactively identify and prospect for modernization projects, including identifying bid opportunities, preparing bid responses, creating presentations, and negotiating contracts.
  • Provide scope definition and systems development direction for outside vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, including conducting contract reviews.
  • Assist in identifying specification issues or interpretation discrepancies and providing solutions.
  • Perform site-surveys in existing buildings to inspect control system operation and unique job considerations for construction.
  • Manage a pipeline of sales opportunities through qualification, proposal, quote management, and booking of work.
  • Provide accurate forecasting of orders on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Grow an assigned territory or group of accounts with the sale of modernization offerings.
  • Develop long-term relationships and partnerships with customers via consultative sales methods.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in mechanical HVAC sales.
  • Control System building design experience.
  • Good knowledge of the Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) industry.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment.
  • Experience of commissioning, fault finding, and servicing on-site Control Systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively develop expectations and relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage many simultaneous projects and responsibilities.
  • Outstanding sales and negotiation skills, goal-orientated with strong time management and organizational skills.

Team & Environment

You will be teaming with other salespeople responsible for Service Agreements, Repair, and Controls to grow your assigned territory.
