The Sales Engineer supports the sales team by serving as the technical expert throughout the sales cycle. This includes demonstrating cybersecurity solutions, guiding customers through technical evaluations, and providing expert advice on addressing complex security challenges. The role emphasizes building trust with technical stakeholders and delivering tailored solutions based on customer environments and threats.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main technical contact during the sales process.
- Partner with sales teams to shape and execute effective sales strategies.
- Deliver detailed technical presentations and product demos that highlight both functionality and business impact.
- Establish and maintain trusted technical relationships with key customer contacts.
- Assess customer security needs, technical environments, and infrastructure to recommend customized solutions.
- Design, implement, and oversee Proof-of-Concepts and evaluation projects to validate solution effectiveness.
- Support the development of technical proposals, documentation, and responses to RFPs.
- Conduct technical health checks and workshops for current customers to support retention and expansion.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of product features, competitive offerings, and cybersecurity trends.
- Stay informed on emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and industry developments.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams by sharing customer feedback and market insights.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to support lead generation.
- Manage technical relationships with partners within the assigned region.
- Deliver technical training and ongoing support to sales staff and partner organizations.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years in sales engineering, pre-sales technical roles, or security consulting within the cybersecurity field.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with skill in explaining technical topics to diverse audiences.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, network security principles, and security system architectures.
- In-depth knowledge of threat detection methods, incident response workflows, and common attack vectors.
- Hands-on experience with Threat Detection and Response technologies including SIEM, NDR, EDR, UEBA, and SOAR.
- Demonstrated success in leading product demonstrations and managing POCs.
- History of contributing to closed sales and meeting sales objectives.
- Proficiency with Linux command line and basic scripting or programming.
- Willingness to travel as required for customer meetings and events.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork and knowledge sharing.

- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or SANS are beneficial.
