About the Role

Blue Ocean Media | Digitale Leute is looking for a Sales Director - Military (Europe & Middle East) to drive business development within the air traffic control simulation sector. You will be responsible for the entire commercial lifecycle in this specialized market across Europe, the UK, and the Middle East.

What You'll Do

  • Take full responsibility for the entire business development process in the military market segment in Europe, the UK, and the Middle East.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Utilize existing networks and knowledge of relevant customers' budgeting processes.
  • Conduct product presentations and live demonstrations.
  • Analyze customer needs and develop suitable solutions.
  • Manage RFPs including review of contract terms and compliance requirements.
  • Create and coordinate proposals in collaboration with other specialist departments.
  • Conduct price analyses and finalize and submit proposals.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with bidding consortia and local representatives.
  • Negotiate contracts until handover to the project team.
  • Provide targeted market feedback to product development.
  • Maintain and expand existing customer relationships.
  • Build strategic alliances with partners in the aviation and defense industry.
  • Create forecasts, budgets, and performance analyses.
  • Optionally take on projects in the civil aviation sector.

What We're Looking For

  • Completed university degree or equivalent education.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development in the aviation/defense sector or solid experience in a relevant position with a target customer group.
  • Negotiation-level English skills and very good knowledge of at least one other European language.
  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and confident demeanor.
  • Experience in creating compelling proposals and tender documents.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%.

Nice to Have

  • Ideally a technical background.
  • Ideally existing customer contacts with decision-makers within NATO forces or comparable organizations.
  • Expertise in the field of air traffic control is desirable.
